Hockey Girlie

Let me first just say how excited I am that Emily wanted to play hockey. She actually started about 2 months into the season, (and missed pictures) but she was all for it!!! Her first practice was today and she did really well. She isn't the best skater, so for a lot of the practice (they had 4 teams on the ice at once all doing the same thing) she had one on one with a coach. I could tell even by the end of the hour that she was doing much better.
Helmet adjusting

Jakey!
Some sort of drill.

She is 3rd from the left, kneeling with no name or number. She will have number 18. She wanted 8 but it was taken.
Bored Bubba.

They did some sort of drill where they kneeled down, stood up, layed down, stood up, etc.... They also played Red Light Green Light.

Babysitting

I got Jerrod and Lindsey tickets to the dinner theater at my church for saturday night, so the kids came over to our house. I had a feeling Scooter would have a blast because he is obsessed with Thomas the Tank Engine, and we have at least five of them. Sure enough, he carried those around all evening. Savannah slept for the first 2 hours they were here, I *did get pics of her, but my camera sucks and they disappeared. ugh.

Close up!

Not sure what this face is......

He was laughing at Rosie for awhile, and I *think he threw this book at her, but I can't be sure.

Gonna whine for just a minute....

....this weather sucks. Yesterday neither of our cars would start. We had Chief's towing come out to jump the van, which didn't work and cost $30 which normally would have cost $50 had it actually worked. Then they towed us to Amoco, where we spent $100 on a new battery....blah. I dropped Bill off at work and finally made it to *my work 3 hrs late. Better late then never right? We also finally got the tree up on Sunday, the kids were decorating it, and Jacob is putting the ornaments on the strands of lights rather than the branches, and gets mad when we move them. So Sunday I was laying in bed reading Eclipse (for the 10th time) and Bill cam ein and said something like, "now I know why we put up the tree" I went out to look and this is what I saw:

Rosie-cat (she's not just Rosie anymore) was *in the tree. Right in the middle. Sigh. This thing is coming down Dec 26th!!!

Busy Day

This morning we had the 4th grade parent breakfast at school.  I always get excited for these school things because it means more hanging out with Jenni and her girls (who I don't see enough of as it is HA HA!)   Her girls are also in 4th, 2nd and Kindergarten.....anywho, on Fridays at school they have pizza. Not BREAKFAST pizza, actual sausage pizza.  Which I guess counts as a breakfast food.  Nick ate his piece, my piece, Jacob's piece, and then went up for another piece.  The kid doesn't eat any lunch but eats everyone else's breakfast. Oy.  After the food there is always a craft in the library (which I need to get a picture of) it was a LOVELY candle holder I'm sure I will cherish for years to come ;-)   Emily and Abbie took off at that point so I walked Nick to his class. As I was getting my coat on, he walks by the lunchroom and gets ANOTHER plate. The lady handing them out says, "Didn't you eat breakfast already Nick?"  He goes "YUP!" and keeps walking.  I was like dang whose kid is that??? ha ha!  So I went back to his room to tell his teacher he may get busted for eating again. (he didn't)  Mr Searl just laughed, he's pretty cool.  After I dropped Jacob off at school I headed to MOPS.  Jenni and I got very festive yesterday decorating, so we had candles to light this morning  :o)   We ate, played a game with white elephant gifts, and made teacher gifts....which I think may still be in my car.  Hmmmm.  After that I went to Jerrod and Lindsey's for a bit to wait for Melissa to call so I could go over to her house and play her Wii with her 3 yr old while she baked a cake.  I'm sorry to say she beat me. I need more practice!!  I came home, got the kids some snacks, then we headed over to Taylor's to watch their kids while they performed in the dinner theater at church.  I had my kids plus a 5 yr old, a 21 month old, and a 7 month old.  We were busy but had fun!!  Tomorrow night we're babysitting my neice and nephew.  Apparantly I can't get enough of kids!!

We wish you a merry sick-mas ...........

The lovely flu is making it's way through our house.  Emily started Monday night and was home on Tuesday, I had to pick Jacob up from school on Wednesday, then later on that evening at around 9 or so I started throwing up.  At 10 I guess Nick felt left out because *he started puking!  So the boys and I were home today.  I'm not expecting Bill to get it and if he does I will be *really surprised. I have never seen him have the flu.  I suppose never being here would do it ;-)   Fortunately everyone will be well enough to go to school tomorrow.  Nick and Emily get to go to Kennedy to see the holiday show, so I'm glad he was home today instead of tomorrow.  Right now we're all just worn out and achy.  Jacob feels the best though, he has eaten a bowl of mac and cheese and 2 corn dogs so far today while Nick and I have only had saltines. yay.  :o)
