Nick's soccer career

I have to say that I'm impressed he stuck it out. He wanted to quit a few weeks ago, but I reminded him that he made a commitment to the team and needed to honor that. I also talked to the coach (who is VERY nice) and he didn't want to see Nick quit either. Nick just isn't an athlete, he just sorta wanders on the field, and makes half hearted attempts to kick the ball when it's by him. He got hit in the face 2 yrs ago in a game, and has since been apprehensive about it. We didn't really have any solutions other than more reminders to run, pay attention, etc. They ended the season in third place, and the first playoff game was last Wednesday. They won 6-0, played Saturday at noon and won that 2-0. One of those goals was a penalty kick and the other was with about 3 minutes left in the game. Then they played today for the championship, which they won :-D The score was 1-0, and that goal was scored within the first few minutes of the game. I felt for the other team though, their coach kept yelling at them saying they shouldn't be tired already, don't they see the ball, etc. It's nice to win but at this age it's more for learning the game and having fun. I was so proud of Nick for sticking it out, and he was very proud of himself as well. I do think this is the end of his soccer career, so it went out with a bang ;-)

And he has a great trophy to prove it! You never know though, Kaydree gave it up once and now she loves it again!

True. Although at his level they are pretty aggressive, competitive, and FAST. I don't see him playing anymore unless he really does a 180 next year and learns how to run ;-) You never know though
