Tiny peanut girl

The kids and I got to babysit Savannah on Thursday. She is so cute!! The kids were very excited. We call her Banana b/c that's what Scooter calls her. ;-) In preparation, I cleaned my living room and kitchen. See? I bet you never knew I actually had a table!!! ha ha

She is adorable. She sat and watched everyone run around and play. At one point she kind of started making a whiny noise and Nick goes, "Emily, play with her!!" ha
Emily took this.

Emily just loves her!!!

Enough toys there, Banana?

Checking Rosie out......
Cousins :o)
A trip to the store wore her out!!! And Rosie had a turn checking her out.

Reading before bed.

I have no idea WHAT Emily was doing here. She said "I look weird!!"

We had fun. I keep getting pestered about when she is coming over again.....we'll have to see!!!

Crazy Kitty

This cat loves to play in water. Not *in the water, but with the water I guess. Bill runs the faucet in the bathroom just to see her come running. And she loves to watch the bathtub fill up too. Sometimes she jumps in the far end and watches it touch her feet :-)

More halloween randomness

It only took me 5 yrs to figure out that if Jake has a sucker while he gets his hair washed, it cuts down on the screaming :o)

This is after only two days of fun. The sad part is, with Emily's new spacer in her mouth, she's now banned from tootsie rolls, now and laters, laffy taffy, gum, caramel, peanuts, and basically anything chewy and sticky. Poor thing. She is not happy. The boys only eat Hershey bars, Jake eats suckers and plain M&Ms, and Nick likes tootsie rolls, so most of this will get tossed or given out by next week.
I am in charge of goody bags for Nick's class party. Every class gets roughly $48 to spend (which only amounts to $2 per kid) I bought all this plus 2 bags of 100 pieces of candy for $38. Go me!!
Emily's spacer. It hooks onto her back molars, and goes straight to her front teeth instead of curving around her jaw like a retainer would.....that didn't make sense but you know what I mean
My personal favorite :o)

I've been tagged!!!!

Kristen tagged me, and since I love being random, here you go.................

1. Post the rules on your blog
2. Write 6 random things about yourself
3. Tag 6 people at the end of your post
4. If you are tagged, just do it, and pass the tag along!

1) I flush public toilets with my feet. It's true. I do NOT want those nasty germs on my HAND for crying out loud!!!

2) I could never be a Stay At Home mom. Props to those of you who are. (esp the one who also homeschool!) I have to be out and about as much as I can. I had the worst month of my life after I sprained my ankle, because shortly after that, school let out for the summer.

3) I am still the New Kids on the Block number 1 fan. It was only 11 or 12 yrs ago that Becky and I would drive around in my car blasting Hangin Tough and yes, we were 18 and 22 :-) ha ha (sorry I just outed you beky) I have been listening to their new album over and over and over and over......

4) My kids' sippy cups have ALWAYS had the right cover on it. If I can't find the right cover, I will switch cups if I need to, to make sure it has the correct one. I also have some issues with numbers....I think I may be a tad OCD.....

5) On Thanksgiving I eat about *this much* turkey (that is supposed to be a microscopic amount) and fill the rest of the plate with various veggies. I don't eat potatoes b/c really, I can make those any ol' time. Same with rolls. On christmas however, ham and cheesy potatoes all the way.....and Craig's deviled eggs and Grandma's banana bread ;-)

6) I sometimes tell the kids the battery on their Nintendo DS has to be charged just because I want to play it :-X

Ok those were random. I'm tagging whoever reads this and has a blog. Anyone else can just email me and tell me you have weird quirks too!!!

Enjoy!!!

Trunk or Treat

The past few years at my church on the Sunday before Halloween we have what's called "Trunk or Treat" People sign up to decorate their cars and you go from trunk to trunk trickor treating. It's fun, and people really get creative!! We got there this year all bundled up ready to spend 30 or so minutes outside, and everyone was in the church. Wimps ;-) ha ha ha..... We peeled off layers and went at it. My neighbor friend Dori and her daughter Lily came with us (they actually go to Jerrod and Lindsey's church) The kids had a blast. I think Jake came home with most of the suckers anyone had, he is all about suckers.

Princess Emily

Darth Vader Nick. ..... So here's my lightsaber story: We went to SuperTarget today for some groceries, and to look at cheap Halloween stuff (I am in charge of goody bags for Nick's class party, and since we only get a certain amount to spend, I need to budget that!) I found a lightsaber on clearance, gave it to Nick, and as we were walking down the main aisle he all of sudden goes "MOM!! This is a BLUE lightsaber!!" Me: "And?...." Nick: "I can't use BLUE!! Blue is for the GOOD guys, I am DARTH VADER, I need a RED one!!" Luckily we managed to find his RED one, thank goodness. Crisis averted.

This is the only picture of Jake I got

I was a Tony Stewart fan. I'm not really, but this is the only thing I could scrape up ;-)

Tuesday October 21

I'm going to see the NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK tonight!!!!   Really the only teasing I have had to endure was Jerrod last night asking me if I was serious and then asking when they're singing ;-)  Who cares what they're singing???  I should have awesome pics to post, hopefully tomorrow!!!   I'm just waiting on Elizabeth to drop off the tickets for me and Jenni, I have to pick Nick up from school at 4:30 because he is now in the chess club.  He has no idea how to play, but knowing him he'll come home today with all the rules in his head.  He beats me at checkers almost every game so I don't know if I wanna learn this  :-D   On Thursday we (me, my mom, my dad, and Ellen my dad's gf) get to go eat breakfast with Jacob at school.  That should be interesting.

Nothing much going on here....

I worked yesterday and today 9am to noon.  I was very surprised today that my boss said Jacob could have his shoes and socks off if he needed to.  The kids aren't even allowed to have their shoes off, but since Jacob was having a minor (ha ha) heart attack b/c I kept putting them back on, Jake my boss said to pick my battles.  It wasn't hurting anything and he was much happier. Besides, if his feet got stepped on, I had free reign to say see, shoulda had your shoes on!!!   We didn't do anything, it's pretty chilly out and by the time we get home and eat lunch, it's almost 1:30.  The kids are off playing and watching tv and bugging the cat I'm sure now......

First day of MEA week

After I got woke up at 7:20 this morning (so much for sleeping in!) and we had breakfast and played and watched some shows, I dug some paints out of the cupboard for the kids. Of course Emily had to take a pic with Rosie ..... this poor cat is so neglected ;-)
Emily and her caterpillar
Nick painted something that has to do with Super Mario Bros I guess

Nice. This is the blurry inside of a 9 yr olds mouth

Bored Jakey.

Here's hoping we figure out more stuff to do tomorrow and Friday!! Maybe the mall, or the park, or even Como Zoo. Anyone wanna join us? Anyone? Bueller?

Nick's soccer career

I have to say that I'm impressed he stuck it out. He wanted to quit a few weeks ago, but I reminded him that he made a commitment to the team and needed to honor that. I also talked to the coach (who is VERY nice) and he didn't want to see Nick quit either. Nick just isn't an athlete, he just sorta wanders on the field, and makes half hearted attempts to kick the ball when it's by him. He got hit in the face 2 yrs ago in a game, and has since been apprehensive about it. We didn't really have any solutions other than more reminders to run, pay attention, etc. They ended the season in third place, and the first playoff game was last Wednesday. They won 6-0, played Saturday at noon and won that 2-0. One of those goals was a penalty kick and the other was with about 3 minutes left in the game. Then they played today for the championship, which they won :-D The score was 1-0, and that goal was scored within the first few minutes of the game. I felt for the other team though, their coach kept yelling at them saying they shouldn't be tired already, don't they see the ball, etc. It's nice to win but at this age it's more for learning the game and having fun. I was so proud of Nick for sticking it out, and he was very proud of himself as well. I do think this is the end of his soccer career, so it went out with a bang ;-)

I thought things were going to slow down when soccer was over!

The kids had their last soccer games last week, or so I thought, forgetting that Nick's team is a level higher than Emily's, and being that they keep score, they do playoffs and the tournament.  This is the busy week so far: They practiced on Monday, I had a MOPS meeting on Tuesday night, first playoff game last night, tonight NOTHING for once, tomorrow my mom is picking up Nick so he can "help" babysit Scooter and Banana (that is her new nickname b/c that's what scooter calls her. It's so cute.)   She's going to keep him overnight, we will meet them at his game on Saturday.  If they win, they play RIGHT afterwards. If they lose, they play Sunday morning. I have MOPS tomorrow morning, I work Saturday afternoon, I think mom is taking him to a movie during that time so she'll probably keep him that night too, church Sunday, unless we have soccer.  After that, nothing. Whew.   Next week is MEA (eek) so I will be bringing them to work with me, I have bible study Monday night, we have church on Wednesdays, I have a work meeting next week, etc...... In the words of Charlie Brown, good grief!!!    I can hardly wait to see how busy we'll be when they're in middle school/high school!!!
