Field Trips galore!
Nick's class has already been on at least 6 or 7 of them this year, and has 2 more. On May 28th they're going to the Bakken and Pavek museums (more I haven't heard of) and on June 5th to the Capitol. Last night he got to do a 4th grade sleepover at the Minnesota Zoo! He said he laid awake for a long time looking at the fishes :o) They had pizza for supper, walked around the zoo, got a t shirt, and had cereal this morning before they left for school. Jacob gets to go to the MN Zoo on the 27th, and Emily gets to go there on June 3. Yes I go to all the field trips, and I will have my fill of the zoo for awhile it seems. Esp with a bunch of Autisic kids running around. That will be interesting!!!

Hey there. I read your comment on MckMama's blog about your son being autistic and a gluten free diet. Well I just wanted to say that I am a Special Ed. major and in the classroom that I most recently worked in (an autistic kindegarten class) one of the boys was put on a gluten-free diet and he changed dramatically. It was so worth it. And the whole family did it with him so there wouldnt be other food around to tempt him with. And several stores are now carrying gluten-free sections.
But beware, the foods that they crave the most are usually the ones that are doing them the most harm. I am defiently not an expert on any of this but these are just some of the things that I have experienced.
Good luck with it. And dont be scared to take that gluten-free plunge...you can always take him off the diet at anytime.
God Bless,
Whitney
