A day in the life

Some of you may or may not have noticed the "Praying for Stellan" pic inthe upper right hand corner of my blog. I came across his story on the momslikeme.com website. A baby from Mound MN was born with a heart condition (SVT for short) and was hospitalized for I think close to 2 months in a childrens hospital in Boston. I have been sitting here reading OLD posts on his mom's blog from 2 yrs ago, wondering how in the world she has time to blog 2 or 3 times a day!! My friend Kristen wrote down her time table day once, and I wondered what my day would look like if i did it.....as I typed that, the cat jumped onto the counter and knocked a cup of water onto the floor. On purpose. And I thought messes stopped when the kids went to bed!!! Anyways, after very little sleep last night b/c of an AMAZING Twins win (11-0 over the Mariners thank you very much! Pics will be up soon!) and a snoring husband, I was woke up by a small child (Jake) at around 6ish asking for the DS. I dug it out of it's hiding place and sent him into the living room. He proceeded to put in a Blues Clues video and sit down at the computer. Apparantly there's no such thing as over stimulation in his world. Over the next hour or so, I kept trying to lay back down (but not sleep b/c cuz once I wake up, I'm up, even if I'm not. Hmm. That didn't make much sense.) but I had to keep getting up b/c he wanted milk, than breakfast, then I had to make sure he went potty, put the cat in Emily's room (she is at my mom's this weekend. HURRAY for grandma!) etc etc etc...... McSnorey got up at around 7:45 to get ready for work. I was still bundled in the covers and heard him mumble something about leaving. I grunted a few times and heard his response before he left "Oh look, it's everyone's favorite morning person!" grumble grumble.....GO TO WORK!!! Hmph. Drug myself out of bed to start food for Nick, which I was surprised he was still sleeping since Jake wakes him almost every morning. Then I remembered I had put J in Emily's room cuz she is gone. They finish eating and playing on the computer, I did dishes.
9:00 : neighbor girl (Lily, age 9) knocks on the door wanting Nick to go outside. I turn off the computer which sends Jake into a tizzy b/c "I want gold bwues cwues notebook! PWEASE mom!" Through out the course of the morning I pull Jacob off the cat literally hundreds of times (ok maybe not that many, but it sure feels like it!) until I finally get enough sense to shut her in my room. Bill finally gets home at noon, and I remind him for the hundredth time (literally, he's a man) that we NEED to go get groceries as our oven isn't working. Yup. Had my friend Amy over on Thursday for a little New Kids on the Block and Twilight watching action, wanted to make a pizza, had sandwiches instead. Awesome. So we head out to SuperTarget in Richfield for our groceries. Armed with the DS, extra clothes, books, bakugan toys, and snacks, I feel like I'm ready to go on vacation. Really? We're going to TARGET people!! We'll be gone less than two hours!! We do manage to keep it under a hundred bucks this time...hopefully that will last until Wednesday ;-) We got home at 2 and I make lunch for the boys and myself....which is typical for weekend lunches, every man for himself around here!! Nick is in and out for awhile with neighbor kids, Jacob is screaming about whatever is ticking him off at that point, and I am trying to read Eclipse. For the 8th time. Since September. Love the Twilight series :o) Anywho, I went and laid down in Em's room at about 4:45 because I was tired. And you know I am tired if *I am laying down during the day!! I dozed off for a few minutes and woke up to hear Bill saying something about leaving again, this time to go to work at Target. Ugh. I'm on my own again. Nick was down playing with Legos, Jake was once again on the computer, and Rosie was just trying not to get mauled by Jake. I made 'supper' (I use the term loosely since our lunch was at 2) Nick went to Lily's and when he came back at 7 he took a bath and then went BACK over there to watch Shark Boy and Lava Girl. I didn't know that the guy who plays Jacob Black in Twilight was Shark Boy. Man he was young. I finally got them to bed at 9:15 and have been sitting (for once) reading and playing on here.
No wonder I'm tired. :o)

Thanks for the visual Tina. It is crazy how much we have to multi-task everyday. No wonder we are tired. Someday, I bet before we blink our eyes, we will forget these days and wish our little ones needed us again...well...maybe not? LOL
